Welcome to ACS CAN South Carolina weekly update for the week of June 2-6, 2014. It was a busy week as the South Carolina General Assembly came to a close. There were bills that passed, bills that died and work on new legislation for 2015 already starting.

ACS CAN SC will host a Lights of Hope ceremony on the north steps of the South Carolina State House on Tuesday, March 25th. The event is designed to rally advocates and legislators around the need for funding for breast, cervica, and colorectal cancer screenings.

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network will be hosting a Pink Tea Advocacy Event to honor and recognize breast cancer survivors across the state, and to recognize providers for the Best Chance Network. This event will be held at the Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation Library in Florence in

The South Carolina General Assembly approved $1.5 million dollars for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screenings last week. This was a huge success for the people of South Carolina.
