2020 Maine Session Summary
Victory in the fight against cancer requires bold new public policies that promote cancer prevention, early detection of cancer, and expand access to quality, affordable health care.
The 2014 Quality of Life Forum was a great event held at the University of South Carolina Upstate in November 10th. Guest speakers included Dr. Brian Bell, Gibbs Cancer Center; Dr. Mark O'Rourke, Greenville Hospital System; Dr. Julie Moss, USC Upstate, and Professor Diane Parker, USC Upstate.
Improving Quality of Life through Palliative Care is about treating the person as well as the disease. Palliative Care is also called supportive care and can provide better quality of life for cancer patients and their families by focusing on relieving the pain, stress, and other symptons associated with cancer and its treatment.
ACS CAN supports proposals to fund research and training that will help broaden delivery of quality palliative care services to all care settings, while also increasing the number of specialized palliative care-trained doctors, nurses, and other health professionals.
