in the cancer death rate since 1991
This year, more than 2 million people will face a life-changing cancer diagnosis, with an increase in younger generations. A dedication to research, proven prevention and early detection has helped avert over 4.5 million cancer deaths since 1991, but there is still more work to be done. And that is where Congress comes in. When Congress prioritizes cancer research funding, prevention and access to early detection, lawmakers make time for all those impacted by cancer. Congress: Pass the FY25 spending bill including robust funding for cancer research and prevention at the NIH, NCI and CDC.
“More than 2 million people in the U.S. will hear the words ‘you have cancer’ this year. Congress must meet this pivotal moment by protecting advancements in cancer research, building on our nation’s fiscal commitment to ending cancer as we know it.”
