Every day that we go without adequate state funding for tobacco cessation and prevention, West Virginians suffer. Too many of our families, friends, and neighbors are hurting from the number-one cause of preventable death in the U.S. – Tobacco.

Decision-makers need to understand the consequences of inadequate funding for tobacco cessation and prevention resources. That's where you come in: we need your stories.

Maybe you used tobacco products early in life and had a hard time quitting. Maybe you're a NICU nurse caring for babies born prematurely due to maternal cigarette use. Maybe you, a friend, or a family member experienced the benefits of a state-sponsored resource, such as a Quitline, to help you quit smoking. We want to hear from you.

"Lawmakers need to stop seeing [smoking] as someone's personal choice and realize that it is a public health hazard."
