SACRAMENTO, Calif. – After an extensive search, Jen Grand-Lejano has been promoted to managing director of the Pacific region for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the American Cancer Society’s nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate.

Grand-Lejano brings extensive experience in management, tobacco control policy and coalition strategy. During her six-year tenure as the ACS CAN government relations director in northern California, she played a key role in securing over 80 local tobacco control policy wins.

In her new role, she will oversee ACS CAN’s work in California, Guam and Hawai’i, with Alaska, Washington and Oregon soon joining her portfolio.

“Jen brings robust experience in tobacco and cancer policy, strong leadership skills, and an insightful community perspective —these skills, in combination with a terrific team of professionals and volunteers, will elevate the voice of cancer patients in California, Hawaii and Guam,” said Mark Anderson, ACS CAN vice president of regional advocacy.

“I am honored to lead a talented and diverse team in the new Pacific region, work with colleagues and volunteers across ACS CAN and ACS to elevate the community voice and collaborate with external partners to advance our vision to end cancer as we know it, for everyone,” said Grand-Lejano.

She holds a master’s degree in global health from the University of California San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts in global health from Arizona State University.
