Healey Signs Bill to Address Breast Cancer Screening Inequities
Legislation will eliminate costly barriers to follow up breast cancer screening
TOPEKA, Kan. – Sept. 27, 2018 – The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network will host its third-annual Kansas Cancer Policy Forum for community members about the unique challenges of accessing cancer treatment in rural Kansas on Thursday, Oct. 4. The forum will feature lawmakers and health care leaders from throughout the state.
This year, more than 15,000 Kansans will hear the words "you have cancer." Rural states like Kansas face many obstacles to providing adequate access to cancer screenings, treatments and prevention services. The forum will bring together diverse expert perspectives to explore these challenges and related policy opportunities.
