RALEIGH, NC – March 2, 2023 – The Senate Health Committee amended HB 76 to increase Medicaid eligibility today, marking the first bicameral action on the issue following the announcement by House and Senate leadership last week that a final deal on Medicaid expansion had been reached.

“We’re excited to see tangible action today by the Senate to take up the House bill following the great news last week that the House and Senate had reached a deal to ensure a path to affordable, quality care this year.
“We’re eager to see strong action continue through the legislative process and are grateful for lawmakers on both sides of their aisle for working together to increase access to health coverage to for over 600,000 more North Carolinians this year.”
