During October volunteers collected over 1000 petitions at American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Events from across the state, These petitions will be delivered during November to Members of Congress to ask them to fund prevention programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and fund research at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Thank you to all the volunteers who helped. Together, we are making strides against cancer.
After months of delay and hard negotiations, Congress has finally passed a funding bill! The bill includes a small increase for cancer research and prevention programs.
