September 19th 6PM - Lights of Hope Harvest Dinner on Langdon Street Montpelier
Community Street Dinner to Help Bring Cancer Issues to Congress
MONTPELIER, VT – August 25, 2017 – To support Vermonters bringing cancer stories to Washington, D.C., the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network is sponsoring a Lights of Hope Harvest Dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. The event will take place on Langdon Street in Montpelier, which will be closed to traffic.
The Harvest Dinner will feature amazing local food prepared by some top local chefs from the Three Penny Taproom, Langdon Street Tavern, Hunger Mountain Coop, Positive Pie, Alla Vita, Sarducci’s and 802 Coffee. As the food is enjoyed, local musicians Miriam Bernardo, Seth Eames, Rob Morse, Jake Whitesell and Jeff Guerin will entertain participants. Art sponsored by Langdon Street Alive.
Lights of Hope, illuminated bags, will line the street in honor of loved ones and those collected before September 4th, will go to Congress for a ceremony in front of the Lincoln Memorial. By being a part of the Community Street Dinner fundraiser in Montpelier participants will help send Vermont volunteers to D.C. to meet with Senators Leahy and Sanders and Congressman Welch to encourage them to make cancer a national priority.
