In October, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event took place in our nation's capital. During the event, volunteers armed with a clipboard, and a pen collected hundreds of petitions to urge Congress to increasae funding live-saving cancer research.
Cancer research and prevention is working, resulting in a 40% decline in the breast cancer death rate since 1991. Now is not the time to settle for our current gains or halt our progress. The next cancer breakthrough is waiting to be discovered. We are calling on Congress to maintain the momentum and to increase funding for lifesaving cancer research.

After months of delay and hard negotiations, Congress has finally passed a funding bill! The bill includes a small increase for cancer research and prevention programs.
