The New Congress and the President Can Protect Children From Big Tobacco

FDA regulation of tobacco products is a top priority for ACS CAN. Now that Congress is back in session, this legislation could be reintroduced soon and would then come up for a vote.

We will be working hard to get Congress to quickly pass legislation that will grant the Food and Drug Administration the authority to regulate tobacco. Updated information will be available when the bill is reintroduced for debate and voting. ACS CAN, along with several coalition partners, has released a new report highlighting the egregious marketing practices that tobacco companies use to entice girls and women to smoke. Deadly In Pink highlights the urgent need for Congress to pass legislation granting the FDA the authority to regulate the manufacture and marketing of tobacco products.
