2017 Relay For Life ACS CAN Chair
Job Description
ACS CAN Chairs are responsible for the year-round integration of advocacy in their Relay community.
ALL necessary supplies, materials and training will be provided!
Responsibilities for a Relay ACS CAN Chair:
- Attend Relay Advocacy trainings throughout the year
- Review 2017 Relay Advocacy Handbook/Materials and refer to them often
- Attend Relay Event Leadership Team meetings and Team Captain meetings (educate on advocacy issues and recruit ACS CAN members)
- Join or renew your own American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) membership and recruit a minimum of 10 ACS CAN members in your Relay community or through family, friends, neighbors, colleagues who live in your area
- Recruit 40 or more ACS CAN members to be part of the elite ACS CAN Club and get special recognition and a promotional banner
- Make an advocacy presentation at the survivor dinner/recognition event and recruit ACS CAN members there
- Ensure an advocacy message is included in your Relay event program and that advocacy announcements are made throughout the event.
