New Jersey Residents Need Health Insurance
American Cancer Society Applauds Senate & Assembly Passage of Health Exchange
Statement from Blair Horner, Vice President of Advocacy, American Cancer Society of NY & NJ
“Surviving cancer often depends on whether a person has health insurance and the quality of that coverage. The passage of the health insurance exchange is a victory for all New Jersey residents, the exchange will help ensure that cancer patients have access to high quality, affordable and adequate insurance coverage that is simple to navigate and easy to understand.
New Jersey has an estimated 1.5 million uninsured residents. More competition will drive down costs and the exchange will ensure every plan offered is on a “level playing field".
The American Cancer Society applauds the state Senate and Assembly on the passage of this legislation and urges Governor Christie to approve the legislation that would greatly benefit the needs of cancer patients.”
