Letter: Bill supports biomarker testing

For the entire month of July, every inch of ad space in the Capitol South Metro, a prominent Metro station nearest to the U.S. Capitol building is dominated by ACS CANÈs Action: NOW Not Later ads. Station Domination is a new, edgy component to ACS CANÈs ongoing advertising campaign around health care. Metro riders entering and exiting the Capitol South station will see advertisements throughout the station on platform pillars, floor space, and dioramas... even a hologram that shows the progressive changes in physical appearance of a healthy person who has been diagnosed with cancer. On top of the Station Domination, ACS CAN has 3 shrink-wrapped metro cars running on the red line, which feature interior ads as well.
The provocative ads feature stories of Americans struggling to fight the current health care system on top of a cancer diagnosis and emphasize the need to focus on prevention and early detection. The facts posted throughout the station 2 out of 5 people will get cancer in their lifetime and 60% of all cancer deaths could be prevented are inexcusable. Congress needs to take action now, not later. PeopleÈs lives are literally depending on it.
