Health advocates urge Council for funding

The American Cancer Society, American Heart Association,and DC Tobacco Free Coalition held a lobby day on Arpil 30 and met with key Council members and their staff and agency heads to urge them to increase funding tobacco control programs.
The CDC recommends that the District spend at minimum $10.7 million annually for a comprehensive tobacco control program that includes, tobacco use prevention, smoking cessation, counter-marketing and enforcement.
