Frying is for Eggs, Not New Hampshire's Youth

February 25, 2014

We have a chance this year to keep New Hampshire's kids from frying.

Indoor tanning, like tobacco, causes cancer. New Hampshire doesn't let kids under 18 buy cigarettes. We think it's about time that the Granite State kept them safe from the dangerous UV radiation of indoor tanning facilities as well.

People who use tanning beds before age 35 increase their risk of developing melanoma by 59%. An estimated 9,710 Americans will die of melanoma this year. Your action today can help decrease this number in the future.

Right now, a bill that would keep kids under 18 from using tanning beds is being considered by a House committee in Concord. Can we count on you to contact the committee members and ask for their support of this important bill?

Thank you so much for taking the time to help prevent cancer in New Hampshire.
