Cancer Research in Your Backyard

Researchers at the John Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in Baltimore, Maryland are finding ways to improve the drug Gleevec by creating a vaccine that can reduce or eliminate the last remaining cancer cells in some Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) patients. This would help diminish rates of relapse when not all cancer cells are destroyed with the drug alone. Improving cancer drugs is a large part of cancer research. But institutions need adequate funding to make the biggest impact. Tell your representatives that you will fight for more funding!
