Cancer Advocates to Sport Suits and Sneakers ® at the State Capitol
Capitol Staff, Lawmakers and Cancer Advocates Will Wear Sneakers to Call Attention to the Devastating Disease that Takes 1,690 Lives Annually in South Dakota
Pierre, S.D. – Capitol staff, lawmakers and cancer advocates of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) will wear suits and sneakers on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the South Dakota Capitol. This annual event draws attention to the detrimental effect cancer has on patients, survivors and their loved ones.
Estimates show there will be 4,960 new cancer cases in the state this year, and the disease will claim 1,690 South Dakotan lives in 2020. ACS CAN volunteers will call on the legislature to prioritize South Dakotan’s health and make fighting cancer a top priority in 2020.
