2nd Annual Brews for Cures draws crowds and smiles in benefit to ACS CAN
After the success of last year's event, Maine ACS CAN Volunteers Diane Aston, Dasha Polyakova, and Mikala Thompson led the charge in organizing the 2nd Annual Brews for Cures event on Tuesday, Aug 23rd at Rising Tide Brewing Company's brewery and tasting room in downtown Portland.
The neighborhood event drew crowds from those just off work to survivors in the cancer community in what was the biggest turnout yet for the event. Event goers spoke with volunteers and learned about how they could get involved with cancer advocacy in Maine. Through the generosity of Rising Tide Brewing Co. as well as the food vendors at the event, the Muthah Truckah food truck and BP's Shuck Shack, $400 was raised to benefit ACS CAN and the organizations work in supporting its volunteers and in making cancer a national priority.
