Oregon City Supports Statewide Ban on Flavored Tobacco Products
OREGON CITY, OR — Oregon City has taken a stand against flavored tobacco products by passing a resolution on Wednesday that calls for an end to their sale.
A monumental time for public health! After more than a decade, a bill that would grant FDA regulatory authority over tobacco products is finally moving to the Senate floor. This week, the Senate will vote on amendments to the bill in time for a floor vote early next week. The tobacco industry has gone unchecked for far too long, shamefully preying on children and misleading the public about the poisons in their products. Every day 3,500 kids smoke their first cigarette, 1,000 of whom will become addicted smokers. The Senate cannot wait to protect our kids from Big Tobacco. You can send a message to your U.S. Senators now and urge them to take up this legislation by visiting fightcancer.org/protectkids.
