I'm Lavanya Mahajan, a Virginia Legislative Ambassador for ACS CAN based in Fairfax, VA. I've been actively involved with ACS for almost 2 years now. My personal connection to cancer stems from the loss of my late grandfather to multiple myeloma in 2010 and, more recently, my grandmother's battle with gastric cancer. These experiences drive my commitment to promoting health equity and fuel my role as a member of this dedicated group.
On a personal note, I'm a passionate high school student actively engaged in volunteering with the Red Cross. In my free time, you can find me at the range, honing my skills in precision rifle shooting. This blend of advocacy, volunteering, and personal interests shapes my holistic approach to contributing to the cause. I'm excited to be part of ACS CAN AAPI Volunteer Caucus' impactful work, and I look forward to making a positive difference in the fight against cancer.
