As an oncologist, it's so sad to see a patient show up with a cancer who cannot afford insurance because of cost and cannot enroll in Medicaid because they earn $15,000 a year, which is too much to qualify for our state's Medicaid program.

Patients with cancer in states that have expanded Medicaid have better survival rates and outcomes.

Voting Yes on Amendment 2 will help save some of our struggling hospitals keep their doors open to patients who rely on them for care.

In my view, from a human standpoint, voting Yes on Amendment 2 is just the right thing to do.
