Cancer Summit: Treating the Person Beyond the Disease

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) will host their annual ACS CAN New Mexico Cancer Summit, a premiere event that brings together key leaders and decision makers in business, education, medical research, cancer care, government, and health policy. This event not only helps unite those in New Mexico who are fighting to end cancer, but serves to empower ACS CAN, and its work to ensure that elected officials across thecountry make cancer a top priority.

The 2016 summit is dedicated to educating patients, providers and the public
about palliative care and will include discussion around:
· Why is palliative care important to patients, providers and insurers?
· What state-level policy changes would help expand the use and benefits of palliative care?
· What are the next steps in expanding access to palliative care in New Mexico?
