2024 ACS CAN North Texas Cancer Advocacy Breakfast

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is the nation's leading advocacy organization working every day to make issues facing cancer patients a national and state priority.

The Future of Cancer Care: Breakthroughs, Advances, and the Importance of Eliminating Barriers through Legislation

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACSCAN) will host its annual Cancer Advocacy Breakfast on November 13, 2024. This event will bring together key leaders and decisionmakers in health care, the community, government, research, and academia to discuss the importance of diversity in clinical trials, and the impact on our state and upcoming legislative priorities.

As ACS CAN gears up for the 2025 Texas legislative session, important policy issues will include securing $600 million to continue funding the critical work of the Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT), eliminating barriers to prostate cancer screening legislation, increasing funding for the State’s breast and cervical cancer screening program and tobacco control programs, plus additional funding to provide colorectal cancer treatment to our most vulnerable populations.

Please contact Marissa Beasley at [email protected] with questions or if your organization is interested in sponsoring this event.
