The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is the nation's leading advocacy organization working every day to make issues facing cancer patients a national and state priority.
This virtual event will focus on the significance of the California Cancer Registry, the Regional Registries, and the roles they play in fighting cancer. Panelists will include members of the Legislature, public health advocates, and researchers who will demonstrate how they use the Registry to fight cancer.
We will also honor State Senator Anthony J. Portantino (CA – SD25) for the passage of SB 987 - The California Cancer Care Equity Act which improves cancer care access, cancer survival, and patient experience by enhancing Medi-Cal patient access to necessary clinical expertise and resources at NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers.
