The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major public health problem through issue campaigns and voter education aimed at influencing candidates and lawmakers to supportlaws & policies to help defeat cancer. ACS CAN is working with partners to energize thousands of advocates committed to making the fight against cancer a higher priority among our elected leaders at all levels of government through building a volunteer movement in every community, empowering ordinary people to wield extraordinary power in this fight. We believe that if one person can battle cancer, then an entire nation can rise upto defeat it. With the help of partners, volunteers, and generous donors, we are prepared to engage in this fight foras long as it takes to defeat this terrible disease.
In 2020 ACS CAN California engaged nearly 700 legislators, business and health care professionals, volunteers, and educators in a series of virtual events. Partnerships are critical to the success of our work. We look forward to building mutually beneficial, ongoing relationships that continue to leverage our mutual strengths and provide strong benefits to all.
