New Jersey's 2025 Cancer Action Week goes live on Monday, March 31st at 8:30 am. Throughout the week, volunteers across New Jersey will be meeting virtually or in-person with state leaders to discuss our cancer legislative and budget priorities.
Cancer Action Week Legislative Asks:
-
Expand coverage and access to biomarker testing.
-
Pass copay accumulator legislation (S3818/A5217), which would improve access to prescription drugs by ensuring copay assistance is counted toward patient out-of-pocket cost obligations.
-
Pass step therapy reform (S3533/A1825). Reforming step therapy means ensuring that it is safe for patients, clinically grounded, and transparent to patients and health care providers.
-
Maintain the Current Level of Funding for the New Jersey Commission on Cancer Research at $4 Million.
-
Maintain funding for the New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection Screening Program (NJCEED) at $5 Million.
