Leadership Summit and Lobby Day > Post-Event Breakouts
A session for ACT Leads with less than a year of experience, this is an opportunity to gain new tools and resources to be an effective volunteer leader in the fight against cancer. This session will cover the dual role of the ACT Lead in influencing lawmakers to get bills passed, while helping to build the organization by recruiting, training, and engaging diverse volunteer teams. Please join us!
ACS CAN is committed to eliminating health disparities and the advancement of equitable outcomes in cancer care. What does this mean for you as a volunteer advocate? What does this commitment look like at the policy level? This breakout will answer both questions and offer guidance on how you can view and speak to our advocacy work from a health equity perspective.
Whether you are recruiting sponsors for Lights of Hope, your state policy form, or a fundraising event, this session will help you target sponsors to meet your needs. In this session, you will learn how to create a prospect list, reach out to potential donors, create a benefits package and follow up. Even if you are already a pro in getting sponsorships, there is still plenty to learn and share in this discussion – please join us!
Recruiting volunteers to join ACS CAN is a core responsibility of ACT Leads and SLAs. Recruitment helps us build our power and ultimately make change. Join this breakout to gain concrete tools for building the ACS CAN community through recruitment.
