ACS CAN Names Watson PA Government Relations Director
HARRISBURG, PA – Jan. 3, 2019 - Harrisburg resident Emma Watson has been named the Pennsylvania Government Relations Director for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN). In this post, Watson will oversee advocacy efforts promoting evidence-based policy and legislative solutions designed to eliminate cancer as a major health problem.
Before assuming this position, Watson spent four years as the Grassroots Advocacy Manger for ACS CAN, implementing advocacy campaigns for local, state and federal legislative priorities across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Before joining ACS CAN she worked on National Institutes of Health grants for the Penn State University College of Medicine and Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute.
“Pennsylvania is facing crucial health care issues, including the need to protect all of our residents from the dangers of tobacco products,” said Bill Sherman, managing director of government relations of ACS CAN. “Emma deeply understands these issues and has a proven record of success, working with our volunteers to bring our crucial messages to decision makers.”

Watson obtained her master’s degree in public health from Temple University.
