Healey Signs Bill to Address Breast Cancer Screening Inequities
Legislation will eliminate costly barriers to follow up breast cancer screening
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- November 19, 2008 -- Senator Tom Daschle has worked throughout his career to improve access to quality health care for all Americans, and has been a consistent supporter of increased federal funding for cancer research and other policies that advance the fight against cancer. We look forward to working with Senator Daschle to transform the broken health care system from one focused primarily on acute care to one that makes disease prevention and early detection a higher priority. Meaningful health care reform must emphasize the continuum of care that spans from prevention and early detection through survivorship and end-of-life care, and ensures that everyone has access to health insurance that is adequate, affordable, available and administratively simple.
