On June 2, 2018 ACS CAN attended the "Knocking cancer out of the ballpark" night at the Bowie Baysox baseball game. During the game, volunteers raised awareness about cancer and collected petitions to urge lawmakers to make cancer a national priority. Brittany Avin and Jacqueline Beale who are survivors and volunteers, represented ACS CAN on the infield.
After months of delay and hard negotiations, Congress has finally passed a funding bill! The bill includes a small increase for cancer research and prevention programs.
