Mississippi Breast and Cervical Cancer Program
Increase Early Detection of Breast & Cervical Cancer
- Early detection is the key to saving lives from breast and cervical cancers, but currently in Mississippi, only 1 in 10 women who qualify for free mammograms and Pap tests can get them through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program administered by the Mississippi State Department of Health.
- Enhanced funding is necessary to ensure no woman is denied these lifesaving services. By providing state funding for mammograms and Pap tests, more women would be screened, more cancers would be found, and more lives would be saved.
