Wine and Genes Symposium
Wine and Genes
The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is committed to helping cancer patients access the therapies they need to fight their cancer. Increasingly these therapies are personalized to treat a specific genetic mutation in their cancer. Public policy plays a large role in helping cancer patients gain access to the care they need and help encourage the development of new therapies. ACS CAN is committed to encouraging our elected officials to do all they can to make personalized medicine available to all cancer patients.
Wine and Genes will include a presentation from noted geneticist and physician-scientist, Charis Eng, MD, PhD. She will discuss how knowledge of family health history and genetics can empower individuals and families to ensure early detection and prevention of cancer. Dr. Eng will also discuss the interaction of wine and genes in human health. Following the presentation, we will sample wines from the regions in her presentation.
