Thanks for Making Day at the Capitol a Huge Success!

February 11, 2016

More than 250 cancer survivors, patients, caregivers, volunteers and staff traveled from every corner of the state to Albany for the ACS CAN New York Day at the Capitol. They gathered in the morning, amid banners displaying some of their photos and personal stories, to learn more about our key issues before they met with their legislators.

State Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan and New York State’s Deputy Secretary for Health and Human Services Paul Francis spoke to those gathered about the importance of cancer issues to the state legislators and to the governor. It was then onto legislative meetings where they told their personal stories and presented our crucial issues. Those participating then boarded their buses for the rides home, enthusiastic, optimistic and committing to continue the fight.
