Fight Back Against Cancer in New York this January

January 5, 2011

Cancer effects us all, but no one is truely powerless in the effort to end this disease. Now is your chance to Fight Back and let your voice be heard.

On January 25, President Obama will make his annual State of the Union address.  During this address, the President's legislative priorities are laid out to Congress and the nation. Following the address, Congress starts to work on its federal budget priorities.

Here are some activities you can do during the month of January to Fight Back against cancer.

  • Host a State of the Union Watch Party to see if the President mentions cancer or any of our other legislative priorities during the speech.
  • Send a New Year's card to key legislators in your district thanking them for their support and reminding them that you are a resource during the legislative session on issues that affect cancer patients.
  • Text FIGHT BACK to 73585 to get the latest mobile updates from ACS CAN all year long.

Taking part in ACS CAN's legislative campaigns on the national, state, and local level is fun and easy to do. There are activities and campaigns that we focus on year-round, and you can help to lead our campaigns to victory!
