A Call for Volunteers

September 22, 2017

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is looking for people in Mississippi who care about cancer to become volunteers. Training will be provided.

New volunteers will be trained on the role policy change can play in the fight against cancer and how to ensure their voice is heard by elected officials on issues such as cancer research, screening programs, and smokefree efforts.

ACS CAN has an Ambassador Constituent Team (ACT) in nearly every Congressional district in the country. These volunteer-led teams help manage ACS CAN’s grassroots activities at the community level. Volunteers are asked to help plan and attend media events, meet with state and federal lawmakers, recruit ACS CAN members, and serve as a chairperson for American Cancer Society initiatives and events.

Call today to add your voice to the thousands of volunteers across the country who are joining together to make fighting cancer a national priority. Contact Anita Bales at 601-321-5519 or [email protected].

ACS CAN is the nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate organization of the American Cancer Society, dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. ACS CAN works to encourage lawmakers, candidates and government officials to support laws and policies that will make cancer a top national priority.
