2020 Maine Session Summary
Victory in the fight against cancer requires bold new public policies that promote cancer prevention, early detection of cancer, and expand access to quality, affordable health care.
We have the opportunity to make life easier for thousands of Massachusetts residents living with cancer.
Palliative care provides an extra layer of support to cancer patients and sees the person beyond their treatment. It brings trained specialists together with doctors and nurses in a team-based approach to manage pain and other symptoms, explain treatment options, and improve quality of life during serious illness like cancer.
It's about TREATING THE PATIENT as well as the disease (a big shift in focus for health care delivery). And it works.
Ask your Massachusetts legislators to support HB 2104 "An Act to improve quality of life by expanding access to palliative care."
