Put a Cork in Cancer

August 17, 2010

Our first American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network's (ACS CAN) "Put a Cork in Cancer" Wine Tasting Event in Maryland was held on July 11, 2010 at Guenther's Fine Wine and Spirits.  The event raised S1000.00 which will help us make a difference in the fight against cancer.  These valuable dollars will go towards educating the public, lawmakers, candidates and the media about the importantance of goverment's role in the defeating cancer and urging lawmakers and candidates to support laws and polices that strengthen the fight against cancer.  ACS CAN's legislative victories help save lives by securing more cancer research dollars, expanding access to early detection, prevention and treatment and reducing suffering and death from tobacco.
