Summer Update

Friday, August 1, 2014

We have had a busy summer and are already starting to build momentum for Florida’s next Legislative Session. Your ACS CAN Florida staff has been hard at work laying the foundation to strengthen our grassroots network and make us even more successful in 2015.

New Team Member

We are excited to welcome Natalie Kliné; the newest addition to our ACS CAN Florida team! Natalie is the Grassroots Manager for the South Florida region and will be based in the Miami office. We are confident she will be a wonderful addition to our small but mighty Florida Division crew and we look forward to all of you meeting her in the near future.

Lights of Hope

On September 16th, thousands of cancer advocates from around the nation will gather in Washington, DC for a special Lights of Hope ceremony. We want you and your loved ones to be represented too. For a contribution of just $10, you can dedicate a Light of Hope to someone you love. Their name will be placed on a Lights of Hope bag and displayed around the U.S. Capitol Reflecting Pool. Last year, Florida was among the top divisions for Lights of Hope and we’re hoping to get back to 1st place this year! In order for the Florida Division and/or individual leadership summit and lobby day participants to receive credit for bags collected, information must be entered online by Wednesday, September 3rd. Click here to donate today!

Facebook and Twitter

Did you know that we’re on both Facebook and Twitter? We created a new Facebook page last summer and we need everyone reading this to “Like” it. Find our new page at https://www.facebook.com/ACSCANFlorida and share it with your friends and family.

We would also love for you to follow us on Twitter for real-time updates on what we’re doing to win the fight against cancer. Follow us at @ACSCAN_Florida.

As always, you can find information and updates from ACS CAN at www.fightcancer.org/florida.

Yours in the fight,
Heather
