Jeff Hille Accepts National Staff Award for Excellence in Cancer Advocacy Work

American Cancer Society Senior Consultant Receives National Recognition from the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN)

September 30, 2024

Washington, D.C., – Jeff Hille was awarded the American Cancer Society Partner of the Year Award this week by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) in recognition of his efforts to help make cancer a national priority. Hille serves as Senior Consultant, Financial Planning & Analysis.

ACS CAN, the advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society, presents the award each year to a staff member who has made extraordinary contributions to the organization’s mission to reduce the burden of cancer through public policy change.

“Jeff has long been an exemplary partner to ACS CAN’s public policy advocacy,” said Lisa Lacasse, president of ACS CAN. “His collaborative attitude and enthusiasm for cancer advocacy shine through as he consistently elevates ACS CAN’s work and mission through his leadership role. We are thankful for strong partners like Jeff who go above and beyond to advance the fight against cancer.”

During his decade-plus tenure, Jeff has worked to integrate ACS and ACS CAN seamlessly. He is a valued partner to every function of ACS CAN operations, from field to national, communications to grassroots, he is able to translate and make sense of complex financial planning with a can-do attitude.

The award was presented on Sept. 15 as part of the annual ACS CAN Leadership Summit and Lobby Day. Nearly 750 cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones met with their elected officials to urge them to support policies that increase funding for cancer research and urge lawmakers to pass the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act.

ACS CAN is grateful for Jeff’s passion and determination to reduce the toll of cancer on patients, survivors and their families.
