How long you have been involved with ACS and/or ACS CAN: This is my 5th year

When I was 14, I lost my grandfather to pancreatic cancer & it became one of the hardest moments in my life because I considered my family members as best friends & I was always by their side. During this time, I turned to ACS CAN because I was able to help other cancer patients & their families to get bills passed that would change their lives for the better. I have met so many caregivers & survivors in this journey which has really helped me truly understand the impact cancer has on everyone. The ACS CAN family has been so inspiring in their work and I am so glad to be a part of this mission as it has changed many lives including mine.

Health equity is important to me because no matter your background you should be able to receive the utmost care needed for your health and in doing so we can create a healthier world. As a member of the AAPI community, I think it's important to create a place where people like me feel comfortable in sharing their perspectives and experiences within the healthcare field. Within this affinity group we hope to bring change for the better and contribute to health equity which are both values that resonate with me.

I am currently a B.S. Biochemistry & Applied Mathematics undergraduate student at Baylor University. I love to play sports and instruments in my free time!
