2023 ACS CAN California Cancer Action Day

Share

Thank you for joining us to fight for lifesaving laws that will prevent cancer and protect survivors and their families.  Your involvement in ACS CAN California Cancer Action Day will help improve the lives of thousands of families across our state.

We're planning an impactful day and want to make sure you have all the materials you need to be successful.

What to wear: If you have a light blue ACS CAN shirt (with either the new or old logo) we encourage you to wear it. along with casual dress pants or khakis, and comfortable walking shoes. If you don't have the blue polo, you can wear another ACS CAN shirt or another nice blue shirt (if possible).

Our morning program will begin at 10:00 a.m. in a tent outside the Sacramento State Capitol and breakfast will be available when you arrive.

Travel/parking: The small x on this map will direct you to the location of our tent. If you need to park at capitol in the morning please view this map or this link for recommendations. For those flying in, you will need to download the Lyft app to your phone (preferrably traveling with a small group of others arriving at the same time) to shuttle between the airport and the capitol. Please review our travel and expense guidelines for more details.

Lunch will be available at the tent and staff will be there to assist with anything you might need.  Meetings will take place throughout the day (check your folder for your meeting times provided day of event) with the day wrapping up around 4:00 p.m.

You can find more details on the new Swing Space near the Capitol where most of your meetings will be held here or you can watch a lawmaker giving a tour of the space here. There are filtered water bottle filing station in this new space, so we encourage you to bring your refillable water bottle.
