In October, hundreds of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events took place all over the U.S. At these events, advocacy volunteers armed with a clipboard and a pen collected hundreds of petitions to urge Congress to increasae funding live-saving cancer research.
Cancer research and prevention is working, resulting in a 40% decline in the breast cancer death rate since 1991. Now is not the time to settle for our current gains or halt our progress. The next cancer breakthrough is waiting to be discovered. We are calling on Congress to maintain the momentum and to increase funding for lifesaving cancer research.
