Bill to Improve Quality of Life for Cancer Patients Passes in House

The U.S. House has unanimously passed our bill to improve the quality of life of cancer patients and survivors. This win was thanks to the hard work, persistence and dedication of ACS CAN volunteers who have tirelessly championed this bill.
Earlier this year, ACS CAN challenged their volunteers to help the bill reach 290 cosponsors, a critical number of cosponsors, which our bill champions believed could help get a vote for passage. We met that goal in October and soon after the House voted, passing the bill.
ACS CAN volunteers called their lawmakers, attended meetings and urged their members of Congress to support this life-changing legislation, which could offer cancer patients a better type of cancer care that includes:
- Less pain during treatment
- Coordinated care among their doctors and other health professionals
- Emotional support for themselves and their caregivers.
Next up, the U.S. Senate version of the bill must pass. Ask your Senator to make today better for cancer patients by passing the bill.
