Pittsburgh Forum on ‘The Future of Cancer Care’ Hosted by Nation’s Leading Cancer Advocacy

PITTSBURGH, Pa. —Pennsylvania’s American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) annual policy forum will bring together state-based leaders and decision makers in health care to discuss the future of cancer care and survivorship education.
WHAT: ACS CAN Pittsburgh Forum: ‘Survivorship and the Future of Cancer Care’
Panel topics will include: the transition from active to post treatment, survivorship education, evaluation the survivorship program success, the physician’s role in the transition out of active treatment, and the importance of a multi-disciplinary team.
The forum is closely tied to ACS CAN’s federal initiative on access to quality of life care and support of the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act (PCHETA)—legislation which would facilitate access to quality of life care and coordinated care management for cancer patients and survivors.

- Dr. Alexander Kirichenko, radiation oncologist, AHN Cancer Institute, system director, Gastrointestinal and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy Programs (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
