The Future of Cancer Care: Precision Medicine, Genomics, and Clinical Trials

San Diego’s Annual ACS CAN Research Breakfast is October 2, 2019

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Confident they can alter the future of cancer and who it impacts, an esteemed list of medical experts and cancer advocates are speaking at a cancer forum on October 2, 2019 at Biocom San Diego. The research breakfast is hosted by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and will feature a discussion of clinical trials, genomics and precision medicine.

The annual ACS CAN Research Breakfast will discuss the breakthroughs in medical science research being conducted right here in the San Diego region. Tragic statistics show more than 178,000 Californians will receive the news this year that they have cancer and some 60,000 cancer patients in the state will lose their battle to the devastating disease. Emerging cancer research offers hope and San Diego is turning into a hotbed for cutting edge cancer research. The tickets are $50 and registration is required 

Medical research stimulates local economies, especially ones like San Diego that are home to some of the most advanced medical research facilities in the nation. There are more than 100 universities, businesses, non-profits and research institutions in the San Diego area.

Who: Panel moderated by Georgia Robins Sadler, BSN, MBA, Ph.D. Dr. Sadler is a nationally recognized expert on engaging medically underserved communities in clinical trials and addressing cancer health disparities.
