For World Cancer Day, Alliance for Cancer Care Equity Advocates to ‘Close the Care Gap’ as Observance is Honored with Congressional Resolution

For World Cancer Day, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®), American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), and the National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF) are announcing three key areas of policy focus as part of the Alliance for Cancer Care Equity (ACCE) joint collaboration, including advancing diversity in clinical trials, improving cancer screening and early detection, and increasing access to patient navigation. The organizations are also working with Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL) to observe the day with a congressional resolution.

Local Cancer Survivors and Patients Gain Support from Nevada Lawmakers After Trip to D.C.

LAS VEGAS, NEV. – Cancer survivors and patients from Las Vegas and Reno represented Nevada in Washington, D.C. Tuesday as part of the annual American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) Leadership Summit and Lobby Day. Tammy Moyle, Deidra Hamilton, Patti Kellerhouse, Jennifer Johnson, Sean McCoy, and Alphonso Gibbs joined more than 700 cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers from across the United States to meet with and urge lawmakers to prioritize cancer care and prevention.

Presentan en el Senado una legislación bipartidista destinada a eliminar las barreras financieras para la detección del cáncer de próstata

Washington, DC, 14 de septiembre 2023 -- Se presentó en el Senado de los Estados Unidos una legislación bipartidista que eliminaría las barreras financieras para la detección del cáncer de próstata. Patrocinada por los Senadores Cory Booker (D-NJ) y John Boozman (R-AR), la Ley de Detección de Antígeno Prostático Específico para Hombres Asegurados de Alto Riesgo (PSA Screening for HIM) eliminaría los requisitos de costos compartidos para los hombres con mayor riesgo de presentar cáncer de próstata, centrándose en los hombres de raza negra y en los que tienen antecedentes familiares de la enfermedad.
