Looking Back on 2012

I can hardly believe 2012 is coming to an end. As the new year approaches, I always like to think back on the accomplishments and significant events of the past 12 months. To say ACS CAN was busy this year is an understatement. We had a great year, and I want to share some of our highlights with you.

On the Ballot in Missouri

Tuesday marks a significant day for our country as we elect officeholders at all levels of government. Voters in Missouri have another important issue on the ballot that, if passed, could potentially save 22,000 lives a proposal to increase the state's lowest-in-the-country tobacco tax.

Presidential Candidates Offer Plans for Defeating Cancer

With 35 days until the election IŠ—'m sure youŠ—'ve seen the presidential candidates spreading their message on TV, on the radio and across the web. Where I live in Virginia, I see an ad for President Obama or Gov. Romney just about every time I turn on the TV. And tomorrow night, weŠ—'ll hear the candidates defend their stance on issues such as the economy and health care in their first debate.

Cancer Votes

To help make cancer an election issue this year, ACS CAN launched Š—“Cancer Votes," a program dedicated to educating the public and candidates about how elected officials can take actions to make fighting cancer a national priority.
