ACS CAN is excited to commemorate the day by Š—“lightingŠ— our Twitter account and engaging our social networks in a conversation about how they can join the fight against cancer. What will you do to mark World Cancer Day?

The phrase Š—“an ounce of prevention saves lives and moneyŠ— means a lot to me and my family. My wife and I are diligent about talking with our doctors and ensuring we are getting the necessary cancer screenings. All Americans deserve access to these lifesaving tests and other cancer prevention measures, but a public health fund designed to do just that is in jeopardy.

In my time in Washington, D.C., I have learned that even the most influential organizations are more powerful when they are a part of something larger.

Today, ACS CAN is taking our message to the radio waves. Dick Woodruff, vice president of federal relations, and I are conducting radio interviews across the country in the hometowns of members of the 12-member bipartisan panel known as the Š—“super committeeŠ— Š—– places like Springfield, Mass., Louisville, Ky. and South Bend, Ind.
