Ensure Hawai'i Cancer Patients Have Access to the Right Treatment at the Right Time

Biomarker testing helps connect patients with the most effective treatments for their cancer - but not all patients who need it are benefiting from this important testing. 

Why is ensuring equitable access to biomarker testing important?

• Targeted therapies based on the results of biomarker testing can lead to improved survivorship and better quality of life for patients with cancer and other conditions.
• Insurance coverage for biomarker testing is failing to keep pace with the latest advances, leaving some patients without access to needed testing, and the most effective personalized treatments. 

I urge members of the Hawai'i Legislature to support expanding access to biomarker testing.
